V Mozhi – Privacy policy

V Mozhi helps you speak, translate and learn languages (English for IELTS / OET, German, Arabic and Indian languages). This page explains what data the app uses, why, and how you can delete it. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
1. Your account

2. Study and practice
Practice minutes, points (XP), streak, test scores and saved phrases are stored with your account so they work on both your phones. If you joined with an institute code, your institute's teachers can see your name, phone number, practice time, scores and homework answers, and classmates see your first name and points on the class leaderboard.
Materials that your institute sends (PDFs, audio, quizzes) are shown only inside the app. Screenshots are blocked on those screens and PDFs show your name and phone number as a watermark.
3. Speech, translation and AI
- Speech to text uses your phone's speech recognition service (usually Google's). We do not record or store your voice.
- Translation runs on your phone for several languages (Google ML Kit, offline). Malayalam and some other texts are sent to Bhashini (Government of India) through our server, or to MyMemory, only to translate that text.
- Malayalam / Indian voice: if your phone has no voice for a language, the text is sent to Bhashini to make the audio.
- AI examiner, AI patient role-play, writing check, meeting summary and fact check: only when you tap these buttons, your answer, essay or meeting transcript is sent through our server to Google Gemini to create the feedback. On Google's free service Google may use this data to improve its products. Do not include private medical or personal details in practice answers.
4. Meeting notes
Meeting transcripts are saved only on your phone. They leave your phone only if you tap AI summary / fact check (sent to Google Gemini) or share them yourself. Please tell everyone in a meeting before you transcribe it.
5. Permissions
- Microphone – for speaking, practice and meeting notes, only while you use these features.
- Notifications – practice reminders and new homework from your institute.
- Internet – account, translation, AI and updates.
6. Where data is stored and for how long
Account data is stored on our server in India (Hostinger) over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We keep it while your account exists. When you delete your account, your name, phone number, PIN, phones, phrases, progress and homework answers are deleted; payment records are kept without your name for tax purposes.
7. Delete your account
In the app: My plan → Delete my account. Or on the web: delete your account here with your phone number and PIN. A Google Play subscription must also be cancelled in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions).
8. Children
V Mozhi is for students and adults preparing for exams and work. It is not made for children under 13.
